Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to hold investigation into 228 appointments of employees from grade 1 to 22 in Agriculture university Faisalabad.

Justice Khalid Ishaq issued order on the petitions filed by professor Ehsan Qadir Bhabha and others \.

Advocate Supreme Court Zohaib Imran Sheikh and others appeared on behalf of the petitioners.

The court while ordering the syndicate of agriculture university Faisalabad to investigate into 228 appointments directed that legal status, merit and transparency of appointments of employees and professors be reviewed.

The court ordered that opportunity of being heard should also be given to all 228 persons during the inquiry.

Zohaib Imran Sheikh counsel for the petitioner took the plea 228 appointments were made against lower grade employees and professors in illegal way.

According to him former vice chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan issued notification of all appointments till late night of his retirement .

The counsel further said that governor Punjab as chancellor had ordered university syndicate to investigate into illegal appointments.

However the persons who were appointed illegally put hindrances on the way to investigations

According to the counsel of the petitioner the relevant persons are trying to avert the proceedings in the guise of court's stay order. While as per law appointments against government posts cannot be made in illegal and non transparent manner.

After hearing the arguments of all respondents the court ordered university syndicate to hold comprehensive investigation into 228 appointments.
