Islamabad: The crackdown against those involved in negative propaganda on social media has intensified. The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has issued summons to several individuals, including Asif Rasheed, Azhar Mashwani, Jibran Ilyas, Zulfi Bukhari, and others.

According to sources, the federal government has established a JIT to investigate negative propaganda by PTI's social media team. The JIT has summoned 10 individuals for questioning. It was formed under Section 30 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 through a notification (F.No.8/9/2024-FIA). The JIT, led by the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, is investigating individuals accused of spreading anti-Pakistan content and baseless allegations on social media.

The primary objective of the JIT is to identify those responsible and take legal action against them. The individuals summoned include Asif Rasheed, Muhammad Arshad, Sibghatullah Warak, Azhar Mashwani, Muhammad Nauman Afzal, Jibran Ilyas, Syed Salman Raza Zaidi, Zulfi Bukhari, Moosa Warak, and Ali Hasnain Malik.

The JIT reportedly has substantial evidence linking these individuals to the case. They have been directed to appear before the JIT on March 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM to clarify their stance.
