Decision can not be made on basis of only verbal statements: CJ LHC

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed the miscellaneous petition regarding recovery of one Fouzia Bibi allegedly kidnapped from area of Kahna.

Petition filed by Hamidan Bibi came up for hearing before Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Aalia Neelum Thursday.

During the hearing of the case the petitioner while alleging police of violence claimed that the police has started pressurizing her to withdraw the petition.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court police not only subjected the petitioner to violence but also tortured two family members. The petitioner is being pressurized for withdrawing the petition.

The CJ LHC inquired from the counsel have you got conducted any medical test in respect of violence.

The counsel said we had gone to general hospital but police did not allow us to go for medical test.

The CJ LHC further inquired the persons are where who were subjected to violence.

The counsel told they are at home.

The CJ LHC remarked you are talking in air. How can I accept it. What are the evidence to prove this claim before the court.

The CJ LHC while dismissing the petition said "presenting solid proof in respect of such claims before court is must. Otherwise decision cannot be made on verbal claims only.
