Decision taken to curtail 40 percent petrol  expenses of parliament house and parliamentarians

ISLAMABAD: It  has been decided to curtail petrol expenses in respect of parliament house and members of parliament in the perspective of hard economic situation.

 

The decision has been taken in a meeting between speaker National Assembly (NA) Raja Pervez Ashraf and Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani. .

 

As per decision the petroleum expenses will be slashed by 40 percent. The two discussed the matters related to ongoing sessions of both the houses of parliament and legislation.

 

Speaker NA Raja Pervez Ashraf said the country is passing through difficult  economic situation. The evolving of a strategy by the political leadership of the country together to steer the country out of this crisis is need of the hour. We are representatives of the people and we feel their  hardships. We are standing with them.

 

He held adopting austerity is  must  in the prevailing hard economic situation.

 

The 40 percent curtailment made in petrol expenses will apply to speaker, deputy speaker, chairman Senate,  deputy chairman Senate and other top officials.  This deduction will also  be applicable to chairman of standing committees of both the houses and officers.
