Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed September 10 to hear the case regarding release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. Court has issued cause list in this regard. Court has decided to bring under discussion the contempt of court notices issued to Prime Minister and his cabinet for not complying with the orders of court.
Court has constituted a four members larger bench to hear case related to release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
Chief Justice (CJ) IHC has constituted a four members larger bench to hear Dr Aafia Siddiqui case. The four members larger bench of IHC presided over by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir will hear the case.
Justice Khadim Soomro, Justice Azam Khan and justice Inam Amin Minhas will be included in the larger bench. Justice Inam Amin Minhas had recommended to shift the case to larger bench on September 01. Dr Aafia Siddiqui case was transferred from the court of Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq had issued contempt of court notices to Prime Minister (PM) and his cabinet.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq is part of division bench hearing tax cases. The cases pending hearing in single bench were taken back from Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq. Dr Aafia Siddiqui case was transferred from Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq to the court of Justice Inam Amin Minhas. However Justice Inam Minhas had sent file to Chief Justice IHC for constitution of larger bench.
