Economic indicators are showing positive trend, ensuring transparency in all sectors: FM

Islamabad: Finance Minister (FM) Muhammad Aurangzeb has said government is ensuring transparency in every sector and all the economic indicators are showing positive trends.

In an exclusive talk here he said bringing betterment in state owned entities is responsibility of government. Losses have declined in state owned enterprises. Reforms are being introduced in different sectors so that the governance could be made more effective.

Muhammad Aurangzeb said government cannot provide employment direct to 250 million population. Private sector will have to be activated. Profit declined in respect of some companies, however overall focus is being placed to improve the performance of entities.

He pointed out chairperson or chairman appointed in state entities belong to private sector to benefit from their professional skill. Certain entities which were running in loss have been closed or process is underway to close them. The affected employees have been given packages.

FM further said government is pursuing privatization policy. Pakistan International Airlines and First Women Bank were privatized in transparent manner. Prime Minister has directed privatization process be moved ahead in complete transparent manner.
