Rahim yar khan: A man allegedly suffered severe injuries after a group of suspects attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and sticks over a dispute arising from his son's love marriage, while his wife was also allegedly subjected to severe assault when she attempted to rescue him.

According to the complaint submitted to police, Allah Ditta, a resident of Mauza Muhammad Murad Dahar, was on his way to a mosque for Fajr prayers when a group of suspects allegedly ambushed him.

The complainant alleged that the suspects, identified as Jindoda, Zahid, Shah Mir, Shehzad alias Dada, Amir, Khalid, Amin, Abdul Karim, Ramazan, Yaqoob and six unidentified persons, were armed with sharp-edged weapons and sticks.

The suspects allegedly attacked and severely beat Allah Ditta, while suspect Shehzad allegedly cut his nose with a sharp-edged weapon, causing serious injuries.

The complainant said that when he raised an alarm, his wife came to his rescue, but the suspects allegedly subjected her to severe physical assault as well.

According to the complaint, the alleged attack was linked to an earlier incident in which Allah Ditta's son, Allah Wasaya, allegedly took the wife of suspect Muhammad Amir and subsequently married her in court.

The injured husband and wife were shifted to a hospital where they were provided medical treatment.

Police registered a case against the nominated and unidentified suspects under relevant serious provisions of law and launched a search operation to arrest those allegedly involved.
