FIA court rejects bail plea of chairman PARC in illegal appointments case

Islamabad: FIA court has rejected bail plea of chairman PARC Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali arrested in illegal appointments case.

Special judge central Shah Rukh Arjumand announced reserved judgment on the bail after arrest plea of Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali Monday.

During the hearing of the case counsel Riasat Ali said in his arguments that the matter pertains to 2022 while FIR was registered in 2025. There is allegation of appointing 68 employees without advertisement. He is also alleged of misusing his official position. FIR was registered against Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali and other accused after three years.

The defence counsel said Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali is chairman PARC. There is no complaint against him throghout his full career. He was first pressurized to resign. When he did not agree then FIR was lodged against him. All affairs of PARC are seen by board of directors. Not a single paper could be brought by prosecution about corruption on record.

FIA investigation officer told the court advertisement was given for 164 posts and 332 persons were appointed. 70 persons are directly linked to chairman, PARC and people of council. 70 people were appointed from home.

Counsel Riasat Ali Azad said chairman PARC is not member selection committee. If some one is relative of chairman then can he not participate in appointments. Was forgery proved against chairman PARC. Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali has no direct link with appointments.

It is requested to court it is case of inquiry. Bail plea of Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali be accepted.

Prosecutor told FIR was lodged under the directives of PAC. FIA court had reserved judgment on petition after hearing arguments.

The court rejected bail plea.
