Lahore: Punjab government while making amendment in Finance Bill- 2024 has withdrawn notification regarding fixation of court fee Rs 500 for obtaining attested copy of court's decision due to personal interest and effective steps by Chief Justice (CJ) Lahore High Court (LHC) Aalia Neelum.

As per media reports the lawyers organizations paid tribute to CJ LHC Aalia Neelum on this important decision describing her their real leader. President LHC Bar Asif Naswana, Lahore Bar president Mubashar ur Rehman Chaudhry and office bearers of Multan, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur bars met CJ LHC.

Advocate General Punjab Amjid Pervaiz and registrar LHC Amjid Iqbal Ranjha were also present on the occasion. CJ IHC Aalia Neelum while talking to the delegations made it clear the decision for enhancing court fee was taken before her oath taking. However she became active for its resolution considering problems of the lawyers her personal problem.

When representatives of lawyers organizations could not succeed in talks with government then she met chief secretary Punjab and she got accepted her plea.
