Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed to fix for hearing the petition filed by Bushra Bibi seeking suspension of his sentence in 190 million pounds case.
The appeals against conviction of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi came up for hearing before IHC bench comprising acting Chief Justice (CJ) Sarfraz Dogar and justice Muhammad Asif Wednesday.
Barrister Suleman Safdar counsel for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi came on the rostrum during the hearing of the case.
Giving his arguments he said there is mechanism for fixing central appeal. Appeal pleas of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi are already pending hearing here.
Suleman Safdar said there is complaint against your office. There is complaint which has to be put before you. PTI founder has gone to jail for third time in this case. NAB arrested PTI founder for the second time. For the third time he is in jail after conviction.
He said it is our request our petitions for suspension of conviction be fixed for hearing. Our petitions regarding suspension of conviction are lying. The petitions which should be fixed are not being fixed. The appeals which should not be fixed are being fixed by office. Decisions are there that relief is given to women.
Barrister Suleman Safdar further said in his arguments sentence in respect of Bushra Bibi is 7 years. Why the appeal is not being fixed. Registrar office IHC has raised objection of not attaching urgent form.
The lawyer said appeals against election commission decisions are pending hearing. Toshakhana appeals are pending hearing. I have come to understand now that relief is provided in your court. It is office which is not fixing case.
Suleman Safdar requested sentence of Bushra Bibi is 7 years. Her appeal against suspension of conviction be fixed for hearing. Bushra Bibi has no role in this case. In this situation I doubt my 22 years legal practice.
Later barrister Suleman Safdar requested for fixing the petition of PTI founder for suspension of conviction.
The court remarked ok give us date. We will see it.
The court adjourned hearing of appeals till next hearing.
