IHC issues notice to CDA over delay in construction of Lawyers complex, facilitation centre

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing notice to CDA over delay in construction of lawyers complex and lawyers facilitation centre has summoned the respective officer of CDA.

The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ|) Aamer Farooq here Tuesday.

Shoaib Shaheen advocate appeared in the court along with the president Supreme Court Bar Association on behalf of the petitioners.

The lawyer told the court work permit for the construction of lawyers complex has not been issued so far.

The court remarked the concerned officer of CDA should appear before it in person.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court chairman CDA should be summoned in person .

The court remarked “ I have summoned the concerned officer. If need arises we will summon chairman CDA.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court the foundation stone of Judicial complex and Lawyers complex was laid on the same day. Judicial complex construction has been completed while work has not been kicked off on facilitation centre. The kutchery be not shifted to judicial complex unless facilitation centre building is constructed. CDA is not issuing work order despite the fact that the construction area is vacant. CDA and other respondents were resorted to several times but no headway was made.

The petitioner prayed the court to issue appropriate order in connection with issuance of work order immediately.

Interior secretary, secretary law and chairman CDA have been made respondents in the petition.
