IHC reserves judgment on petition against not allowing to sit in examination of Wafaq ul Madari for not wearing beard

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on the petition against not allowing candidates to sit in examination for not wearing beard as per madaris policy.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiayani has remarked children are future of Pakistan. No child can be prevented from acquiring religious or worldly education.

He gave these remarks during hearing of petition against not allowing to sit in examinations of Wafaq ul Madaris without beard.

Kamran Murtaza, Assistant Attorney General and high officials of ministry of education appeared in the court.

The court raised questions on legal status of Wafaq ul Madaris.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked what is legal position of Wafaq ul Madaris. Wafaq ul Madaris gives degrees under what law. The basic question is this what will be its legal position of the degree the child acquires from Wafaq ul Madaris.

Judge remarked will same facilities be available to degree holding children of Wafaq ul Madaris and degree holders from other educational institutions. .

Children are future of Pakistan. No child can be prevented from acquiring religious and worldly education.

AAG said Wafaq ul Madaris has been registered under society registration act.

The court said society registration is absolutely different act. Have you ever seen a medical teaching hospital operating in a slum dwelling. Supreme Court gave judgment and regulated law colleges. Like wise medical colleges were regulated. No college or university can give admission if over 100 children are brought. 100 cannot become 101.

The court inquired from AAG you are regulating madaris but are not telling how the education system will run. Are the madaris operating in Islamabad only being registered.

Education ministry authorities told the court madaris registration process is underway in all over Pakistan.

The court reserved judgment on completion of arguments of the respondents.
