Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed deepest sorrow and condolences on the unfortunate incident that took place at a Gurdwara in Poonch district of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where a respected Granthi Singh reportedly lost his life due to firing.

JI Secretary General Amirul Azim in a statement issued from Mansoorah said: 'It is shocking and shameful that Indian media has, without any evidence or investigation, attempted to blame Pakistan for this tragic event.' As Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan, he added, we categorically reject these baseless accusations. Pakistan, and particularly the Muslim community of this country, he said, holds the Sikh religion and its places of worship in the highest regard.

'We believe that harming a Gurdwara or any house of God is an act of sheer cowardice and goes completely against Islamic values.'

The reality is clear, said Amirul Azeem, this seems to be yet another orchestrated move by the Indian establishment to divert attention from its internal failures in Kashmir and to incite misunderstanding between Pakistan and the global Sikh community. Fabricating such stories and blaming Pakistan has long been a tactic to sow division and justify oppression in the region, he added. 'We humbly appeal to our Sikh brothers and sisters across the world to see through this propaganda. Pakistan has shown with action - not words - its commitment to religious freedom and Sikh-Muslim harmony, from the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor to the respect shown toward all Gurdwaras in our land.'

Jamat-e-Islami, said Amirul Azeem, strongly condemns this tragic incident and demands an impartial international investigation to uncover the truth. We stand for justice, peace, and unity among all religious communities.
