Islamabad: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Friday recommended to appoint Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of the Lahore High Court as a judge of the Supreme Court.

Approval was also given to remove remarks about Justice Shujaat Ali Khan.

The JCP meeting was held under Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi Friday and all the members of commission attended the meeting.

The meeting last two and half hours.

The matter of appointment of 2 out of 5 judges of Lahore High Court in Supreme Court came under consideration.

The decision to appoint Justice Ali Baqar Najafi to the Supreme Court was made by majority vote.
