Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has conditionally suspended trial court decision regarding payment of Rs 50 lac in damage by Meesha Shafi to singer Ali Zafar.
Justice Ahmad Nadim Arshid took up the appeal plea of Meesha Shafi for hearing.
Advocate Saqib Jeelani appeared on behalf of Meesha Shafi.
The court rejected the plea for suspension of entire decision of trial court.
Justice Ahmad Nadim remarked trial court in its decision has restrained Meesha Shafi from leveling the charges of sexual harassment again. We cannot suspend this decision of trial court. No one can be allowed to level allegations of sexual harassment.
The appeal said the sessions court while declaring Ali Zafar claim correct had ordered Meesha Shafi to pay Rs 50 lac in damage.
The court ordered to deposit half of the amount of damage in high court besides filing surety bond for the remaining half of the money.
During the hearing of the case the court issued notice to singer Ali Zafar and sought reply.
It is pertinent to mention here the sessions court while giving decision in favor of Ali Zafar had ordered Meesha Shafi to pay Rs 50 lac in damage to Ali Zafar.
Meesha Shaif resorted to high court against this decision.
