Karachi: A 50-year-old man was shot dead after unidentified assailants opened fire on his car in Ayub Goth area of New Karachi on Saturday, police said.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Ghulam Qadir. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.

Police said the vehicle being driven by the victim was registered in the name of his wife.

Investigators said the attackers specifically targeted the driver's seat, suggesting that the victim was the intended target.

Police teams collected forensic evidence from the crime scene, while statements of eyewitnesses were also being recorded.

According to initial investigations, the incident appears to be the result of personal enmity. Further investigation is underway to trace and arrest the assailants.
