LAHORE: Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that the masses are bearing the burden of lavishes of the rulers. He said that there is dummy government and dummy opposition in the country. He said that the decisions of Pakistan are being made in America and IMF offices instead of parliament. He said that prime minister has announced to provide relief to the masses while selling his clothes, adding that I will ask the prime minister to overcome corruption instead of selling the clothes.
This was stated by Emir JI Pakistan Sirajul Haq while inaugurating the 10-day long campaign of JI election symbol ”Scale” on the third and last day of session of the newly-elected members of the JI Shura (consultative council) at Mansoorah on Sunday. JI MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, JI Secretary Information Qaiser Sharif, Deputy Secretary General Waqas Jaffery, JI Central Punjab Emir Javed Kasuri, JI Lahore Emir Zikurrlah Mujahid and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
Sirajul Haq said that interest bases system and corruption are the mothers of all the problems, adding that masses are bearing the burden of lavishes of the rulers. He said that the rulers who secured billions of rupees loans and then got waved off these loans should pay the debt of the country. Sirajul Haq said that during the last seven decades the bank balances and properties have been increased of the rulers and their generations, adding that billions of dollars secured from the international financial institutions have also been spend on the protocol and non-developmental expanses of the ruling elite but to pay the debts the blood of the poor people is sucked.
Sirajul Haq said that the world is on space mission but from 74 years our governments are on the begging bowl mission, adding that whosoever secures more debt feels more proud, adding that after ending the begging bowl mission we will have to make the self-reliance our target.
Sirajul Haq said that charter of economy is very necessary, adding that JI is talking about holding of grand dialogue from last one month, adding that if all the political parties will not sit on one place then the traffic police will come. He said that we will have to change the outdated system. He said that the ruling elite is the root cause of the problems, adding that all three big parties have failed. Sirajul Haq said that he assures the nation that the resolution of all the problems lies in enforcement of Islamic system, adding that lion, arrow and bat have failed and exposed and now “scale” has left with the nation last option.
Sirajul Haq said that Majlis-e-Shoora of the JI has decided to hold mammoth protest demonstration in Lahore on 11th June against the interest based system and anti-masses steps of the government and start the countrywide movement. He warned the government to take measures in the budget to end interest bases system and overcome the inflation. He said that the JI is giving chance to the government to correct its direction or become ready to face the nation. He said that the agreements struck with the IMF should be presented in the parliament.
Replying a question, Sirajul Haq said that JI wants fair and transparent elections in the country, adding that if the elections will be held under the principle of proportional representation then the democracy will be strengthened. He said that all political parties should sit together and start negotiations on the electoral reforms.
