Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation, strongly condemned the criminal silence of the international community and human rights organizations over the Indian fascist regime's relentless reign of terror in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling this silence a betrayal of the values of justice, freedom, and human dignity. She urged the world powers and global organisations to break their silence against India's state terrorism in Kashmir complicity through inaction, as the world preached human rights but remained complicit in Kashmir's suffering.
The Chairperson expressed these views during her speech as a chief guest at the Insan Dost Awards ceremony here at FAST University on Friday. Mushaal Mullick, who is also the wife of unlawfully detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik, vowed: 'We did not bow, we did not break, and we did not beg - we stood, we fought, and we will continue to rise until justice prevails.'
Yasin Malik was honoured with the Insan Dost Award for his unwavering commitment to peace and justice in IIOJK. The award was received by their daughter, Raziyah Sultan, on behalf of her imprisoned father. 'I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of this prestigious event for recognizing the unshakable courage and lifelong struggle of my husband, who is currently unjustly imprisoned under the brutal regime of the Indian government,' she added.
In her impassioned speech, Mushaal highlighted the relentless persecution faced by her husband, who has been held in solitary confinement in Tihar Jail under life-threatening conditions under fabricated and concocted charges. She condemned the Indian government's deliberate attempts to silence Yasin Malik, a symbol of Kashmir's resistance, through illegal detention, torture, and denial of medical care. The Hurriyat leader stated that despite suffering severe health complications, including cardiac issues, Malik has been systematically denied proper treatment, exposing India's blatant disregard for human rights and international law.
'India wants to break Yasin Malik's spirit, but he remains unbroken. His crime is demanding freedom for Kashmiris from India's illegal occupation,' Mushaal declared. His struggle was-and remains-non-violent, democratic, and rooted in the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, she added. The Hurriyat leader lamented that the silence of the international community and human rights organisations over his plight and the broader suffering in Kashmir was deafening. She questioned where the champions of human rights and the global defenders of democracy were, when an unarmed and innocent people were being martyred, rampant enforced disappearances, continued media blackouts, and daily humiliation faced by Kashmiris. 'As a mother, as a wife, and as a Kashmiri woman, I vow not to rest until these shackles of Indian slavery and subjugation are broken. Our fight is not just for freedom, it is for dignity, for humanity, and for the right of every Kashmiri to live without fear,' she vowed.
Mushaal blasted New Delhi for using judicial terrorism to punish Kashmiri leaders while the world turned a blind eye to the humanitarian crisis in IIOJK.
Paying tribute to her husband's resilience, Mushaal vowed that no prison cell can crush our resolve, as India's shackles of slavery will break, and Kashmir will be free soon. She called upon Pakistan and the global community to intensify diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri cause.
'My father is a prisoner of conscience. I miss him every day, but I am proud of his sacrifice for Kashmir,' Raziyah Sultan, while accepting the award on behalf of her father, said, her voice trembling with resolve.
Ms Sabien Hussein Mullick, Secretary General Peace and Culture Organisation received Insaan Doost Award on behalf of her Late mother Ms Rehana Hussein Mullick, former Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League women wing and Co Chairperson Peace and Culture Organisation on her exemplary services for Human rights, politics ,Humanity and commitment towards the oppressed of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmiri . Rich tributes were paid for the departed soul and Fatiha prayers were offered.
