Islamabad: Foreign Office (FO) has expressed grave concern over rising incidents of Islamophobia in India.

FO spokesperson said in his statement that targeting Muslims in India, hate speeches, discriminatory policies and actions under state patronage are not only blatant violations of human rights but also a threat for regional stability.

Pakistan demands Indian government to ensure religious freedom, safety and equal rights of all citizens regardless of their religion.

He said the targeting Muslims through hate speech, discriminatory actions, and state complicity is a matter of serious concern for the international community.

The Spokesperson said that at a time when world urgently needs restraint, reconciliation and interfaith harmony, using religious hatred for political or ideological purposes is highly regrettable

FO spokesperson called upon international community to take notice of rising extremism against Muslims in India and ensure immediate measures for protection of minorities.
