Pakistan rejects provocative, baseless, irresponsible allegations by Indian PM

Islamabad: Pakistan while categorically rejecting the baseless, provocative, and irresponsible allegations leveled by the Indian Prime Minister (PM) has said such remarks which are replete with distortions, misrepresentations and inflammatory rhetoric are aimed at fanning regional tension to seek narrow political gains.

Such statements not only reflect the deliberate bid to misguide people but they also defy the norms of responsible state system, this was said by Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan in a statement here Friday.

He said that resorting to threats and boasting about military action against a sovereign nation was a grave breach of the United Nations Charter and established principles of international law. This dangerous approach undermines regional peace and stability, he added.

He said Pakistan is a permanent and pro-active partner in global fight against terrorism. Any allegation for linking Pakistan to terror related activities in fact is wrong and categorically misleading.

It is a tactic often employed to divert attention from India's own internal challenges, particularly its repressive policies in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said Indian attempts to cover up violation of human rights in Occupied Kashmir are well documentd.

International community has recognized it swiftly.

The plight of the Kashmiri people and their just struggle for self-determination cannot be obscured by aggressive rhetoric and political deflection.

Pakistan has urged Indian leadership to exercise restraint and responsibility. adding escalatory statements does not any other purpose than exacerbating tension. Rather than resorting to fictitious narratives and warmongering for electoral mileage, India should demonstrate maturity by resolving outstanding disputes through peaceful dialogue and diplomacy.

He further stated Pakistan remains firmly committed to peaceful coexistence, regional stability, and constructive engagement. However, our desire for peace should not be misconstrued as weakness. The people of Pakistan and its armed forces are fully prepared and capable of defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

It said any misadventure or aggression will be met with a resolute and proportionate response. Pakistan has demonstrated its resolve in the past and will do so again, if required.

He urged international community to take serious notice of Indian aggressive posturing and hate based narrative as they pose threat to regional peace

Discouraging such rhetoric and statements in imperative to maintain stability I n South Asia, he added.

Escalating the conflicts does not benefit to any one and the way to abiding peace lies in upholding mutual respect and international law.
