Islamabad: The petition seeking court’s orders for arranging meeting between PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in isolation came up for hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
As per media reports petition was filed by citizen Muhammad Yaqoob.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of IHC while hearing the petition issued notice to the respondents besides seeking the reply till next week.
Counsel Atif Mehmood appeared on behalf of the petitioner during the hearing of the case.
The counsel took the plea special meeting at least 3 times in a year is must as per rules.
The court inquired who is petitioner.
Upon it the court was told that the petitioner is follower of PTI founder.
The court also inquired is the petitioner member of PTI.
The counsel replied he is only follower.
The court was informed during the hearing of the case PTI founder and Bushra Bibi are not directly respondents in this case. PTI itself has announced its disassociation with this case.
As per sources the jailed husband and wife can give application to jail superintendent directly for meeting as per jail rules. The availability of facility of family room in jail is must for this purpose. However this facility is not available in Adiala jail.
If superintendent does not allow then the application is given to deputy commissioner. If deputy commissioner too refuses then the matter can be taken to trial court and later to high court.
