Power tariff likely to be curtailed

Islamabad: Electricity tariff is likely to be scaled down by Rs 1.75 per unit for consumers across the country. CPPA has filed application under quarterly adjustment.

The application has been filed under fourth quarterly for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Relief of over Rs 53.39 billion will be passed on to the consumers in the event of acceptance of application.

The quarterly adjustment will be applicable to consumers of all state run DISCOs and K-Electric.

NEPRA will hear the CPPA application on August 4.

The relief can increase further if adjustment are approved for the months of September, October and November.

Relief to the tune of Rs 2.10 per unit will be given for the month of September, October and November.

NEPRA will make final decision with reference to prices following hearing of the application.
