Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, during which they discussed the situation in Afghanistan and matters of internal and external security.

Field Marshal Asim Munir briefed the President in details on regional security situation, ongoing operation along the Afghan border, provocative steps by Afghan Taliban and military response to Afghan aggression.

President Zardari expressed full confidence in the preparedness, capabilities, and bravery of the armed forces, praising their vigilance and professionalism in thwarting border attacks and defending the nation.

The President reaffirmed that Pakistan will defend its security at all costs.

President made it clear Pakistan is ready to pay every cost for protection of its solidarity and regional integrity.

No external pressure or interference will be tolerated.

The two exchanged views on overall security situation in the region and different aspects of defence cooperation.
