Islamabad: PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have filed appeals challenging the verdict in the Toshakhana-II case, with hearings expected in the Islamabad High Court later this week. The appeals have been filed through lawyer Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry.

The High Court has assigned Diary No. 24560 to Imran Khan's appeal and Diary No. 24561 to Bushra Bibi's appeal.

In the filed appeals, the petitioners contended that the trial court relied on statements from a dismissed official, Inamullah Shah, and also on a 'promised pardon' witness, which could not be considered credible. The prosecution, the petition argued, failed to prove the case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

The appeals further assert that:

The Toshakhana-II verdict is invalid, as multiple punishments cannot be awarded for a single offense.

The Special Central Court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.

Shoaib Abbasi was illegally declared a key witness.

The former ruling couple retained gifts under Toshakhana rules for former officeholders.

The case was filed without proper investigation and represents political victimization.

Neither petitioner qualifies as a government employee under the law.

The petitions also request the court to schedule the appeals for hearing at the earliest possible date.
