Public transporters jack drop fare bomb shell on commuters

Lahore: Public transporters have too dropped fare bombshell on people following the hike in goods fare by goods transporters due to increase in the prices of petroleum products.

As per media reports, public transporters have increased the fare from Rs 300 to Rs 600.

The fare from Lahore to Islamabad has been increased from Rs 2600 to Rs 3000, Lahore to Peshawar from Rs 2890 to Rs 3500, Lahore to Sargodha from Rs 1300 to Rs 1550, Lahore to Faisalabad from Rs 1200 to Rs 1350 and Lahore to Karachi from Rs 8000 to Rs 8600.

Fare from Lahore to Hyderabad has been enhanced from Rs 8650 to Rs 9200, Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan from Rs 4000 to Rs 4250 and Lahore to Murree from Rs 2790 to Rs 3300.

The commuters have complained that it has become too hard to travel by public transport in this hour of inflation .

Transporters are of the view the spare parts have also become expensive due to rise in the prices of petroleum products.

The citizens have demanded of government to curtail the prices of petroleum products forthwith otherwise inflation flood will sweep away the poor masses.
