Lahore: The recent hike in the price of petroleum products has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).

The petition said increasing price of petrol by Rs 55 per liter by the government is an illegal and anti people step. Hike in price of petroleum products will render Transport, electricity, agriculture and essential commodities expensive.

The petition further said raising the price of petroleum products when the oil marketing companies are holding stock for 15 days is illegal.

OGRA and ministry of petroleum should present the details of petroleum reservoirs of 15 days in the court.

The court has been requested to declare the notification regarding increase in the prices of petroleum products null and void.
