ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to Imran Khan and other PTI leaders in contempt of Election Commission (EC) case.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took up for hearing the petition filed by EC in the case Tuesday.
The court remarked EC has requested to transfer all the cases pending hearing in different high court to one high court. EC is of the view should it make preparations for local bodies and general election or contest the cases.
The court remarked EC presented the court examples for clubbing the cases under the order of SC.
Later the court while issuing notices to Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar on the request of EC adjourned the hearing of the case for 15 days.
