So far Alkhidmat Foundation has spent over Rs 62.5 million in relief operation for flood affectees: Dr. Mushtaq Mangat

LAHORE: Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat on Wednesday visited a relief camp setup for floods affected people in Bela, Balochistan. He said that so far Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has spent over Rs 62.5 million for in relief operation for flood affectees.

Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat was also accompanied by Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Balochistan, Karamatullah, Senior Central Manager Media Relations Shoaib Hashmi and other relevant local office-bearers.

While briefing the central vice president, Karamatullah said that a major portion of population was affected in wake of flooded streams and canals. Hundreds of houses were completely as well as partly damaged due to which a large number of local population is compelled to pass life under an open sky, he said, and added that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan immediately initiated rescue and relief work after heavy downpours in the area. In the relief camp, both cooked meals as well as dry rations are being served to the rains and floods victims, he elaborated.

A medical camp has also been established where more than 150 patients medical checkup is carried out, he said, adding that the patients are also provided with medicines free of cost. There was a serious issue of availability of potable water due to destruction of water channel, he said, and added, somehow, provision of clean drinking water is underway in the affected areas.

On the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat said that the people were badly affected in wake of recent rains; crops were destroyed and houses and livestock were damaged. “I appeal to the entire nation, especially, philanthropists to come forward to help out their brothers and sisters in this testing time. For flood victims, Alkhidmat Foundation setup 38 medical camps; delivered 8200 food packages; served 634 cooked food pots; setup 354 tents and distributed 2130 tarpaulins,” he added.
