Terrorism case against federal minister Javed Latif: IHC dismisses petition being non maintainable

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed the petition regarding registration of terrorism case against federal minister Javed Latif declaring it non-maintainable.

The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah Tuesday.

Counsel for Javed Latif told the court press conference took place in Islamabad and the case was registered in Lahore.

The CJ IHC remarked FIR was lodged in Lahore High Court (LHC) therefore, LHC should be approached. How can this court issue notice to police station of Lahore. You should not go there where there are difficulties for you.

It was taken the plea in the petition filed by Javed Latif that the cases registered in different cities be declared illegal. If I had spoken some thing wrong then only PEMRA can take action. Criminal cases cannot be made on criticizing the political leader.

The court dismissed the petition declaring it non maintainable.
