Two poultry sellers held for selling dead chickens

MARDAN: The district administration and food department arrested two poultry sellers and seized 1,100 dead chickens on Tuesday, a press statement issued by deputy commissioner office said.

It was further stated in the statement that on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif, Assistant Food Controller Khalid Khan, Food Inspector Mohsin Nisar and Food Inspector Irfan Afridi under the supervision of District Food Controller Aftab Umar took action against those selling dead chickens in different areas of Takhatbhai. The team arrested two poultry sellers who were allegedly selling bead chickens.

The administration seized as many as 1,100 dead chickens, and registered separate First Information Report (FIR) against the arrested shopkeepers and put them behind bars.

Deputy commissioner Habibullah Arif said that there is no place for such people in Mardan. He argued the people to point out such people to the administration. He added that the Food Department will continue to take action against such people. The public is urged to cooperate.
