Islamabad: Election Commission (EC) has reserved judgment in the matter of violation of election code of conduct by state minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has remarked no one should think one will violate and escape.

The matter of violation of election code of conduct against state minister Talal Chaudhry came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Thursday.

During the hearing of the case, counsel for Talal Chaudhry while giving arguments said Talal Chaudhry has tendered unconditional apology to the EC.

He said DMO issued warning on November 20 besides imposing fine of Rs 50000 on November 20 as well.

He said DMO did not take action as per law. Talal Chaudhry did not violate election code of conduct.

The CEC said on the occasion you mean the minister is at liberty to do whatever he wills and no one should ask him about it.

EC authorities said EC wields full powers to initiate action on violation of election code of conduct. Video evidence are available against Talal Chaudhry.

They said DMO has issued warning to state minister due to influence.

Member Sindh said this is not possible to prove that influence has been used.

EC reserved decision in respect of case of violation of election code of conduct against Senator Talal Chaudhry.
