Seven candidates on Senate seats from Punjab including Mohsin Naqvi, Pervez Rashid, Tallal & Ahmed Cheema elected unopposed


LAHORE: Seven candidates on Senate seats from Punjab including Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Pervez Rashid, Muhammad Tallal Chaudhry and Ahmed Khan Cheema have been elected unopposed. Seven candidates had filed nomination papers on seven general seats. Technically seven candidates have succeeded unopposed.

On the general seats, five candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and two candidates of Sunni Ittihad Council succeeded unopposed. PML-N’s Pervez Rashid, Nasir Mehmood, Ahad Khan Cheema and Tallal Chaudhry succeeded. Similarly, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also succeeded with the support of the government.

Sunni Ittihad Council’s Raja Nasir Abbas and Hamid Khan Advocate succeeded unopposed. Candidates including Barrister Waleed Iqbal, Shehzad Wasim, Ijaz Minhas, Dr. Musaddiq Masood Malik and Umar Cheema took the nomination papers back.

LHC orders to remove name of PTI leader Usman Dar from PNIL


LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed to remove name of PTI leader Usman Dar from PNIL besides allowing him to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

The protective bail of Usman Dar has been approved for seven days in GHQ attack case.

The petition seeking removal of name of Usman Dar from PNIL list came up for hearing before LHC.

The court accepted PTI leader plea . Usman Dar was allowed to go to perform Umrah.

The court also granted protective bail of 7 days to Usman Dar in GHQ attack case.

A two members bench of IHC led by Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry heard the petition of Usman Dar in connection with protective bail in GHQ attack case.

Judge Arshid Javed of ATC took up the bail plea for hearing Wednesday.

The court directed to make arrangements for completion of attendance of PTI founder through video link.

Israel murdering humanity in Gazs as world watches silently, say speakers at an al-Quds conference held by JI Sindh


KARACHI: Israel is murdering humanity in Gaza as the world watches silently, said the speakers of an al-Quds conference held by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sindh chapter at Quba Auditorium here Wednesday.

They said Israel has crossed all limits and broken all international laws and rules in Gaza but no one is there to raise an objection. They said the world is watching the most brutal genocide of the human history in Gaza at the hands of Israeli occupation army. They said the United Nations and its Security Council are virtually nullified by Israel and its patron USA by disobeying its resolution. They said the occupation army of Israel has committed the worst war crimes in Gaza, and the US and Europe are also partners in these crimes. They asked if there is any global body or forum to make these war criminals accountable.

The speakers said that China, Russia and Arab world have also given just lip service to the Palestinians and they practically did nothing to get this genocide stopped. They said the most cowardly
role is of the Arab rulers who have given a silent tactical support to Israel to kill the Palestinian men, women, elderly people and children.

They demanded immediate stoppage of the genocide in Gaza by implementing the resolution of the UNSC. They demanded to slap sanctions on Israel and force it to pay compensation to the bereaved families and for damage to houses and other infrastructure. They asked the United Nations to send its peacekeepers to Gaza to get stopped the bloodbath of the Palestinians. They asked to open land borders to supply ample food, water, tents and medicine to Gaza on urgent basis. They asked all peace loving countries to shun all types of relations with Israel till it tenders written apology and repents for its war crimes in Gaza.

They welcomed JI Emir Sirajul Haq for announcing to hold a Gaza March in Islamabad on April 5. They also welcomed JI Karachi for observing a Gaza solidarity night in Karachi on March 30 at Shahra e Quaideen.

Court orders Pakistan Railways to pay over Rs 10 million in damages


KARACHI: Local court of Karachi has ordered Pakistan Railway to pay over Rs 10 million in damages.

The court issued these orders in the case in connection with payment of damages filed by family members of one Javed Iqbal who died in train accident.

The court issued this order under fatal incident act 1855.

It may be mentioned that a clash took place between Millat and Sirsyed express near Dharki. Over 50 persons were killed in this accident.

The family members of one Javed Iqbal who died in the incident had resorted to local court of Karachi for payment of damage.

Martyrs are our national asset & the crown: JKLF


ISLAMABAD: Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Raja Haq Nawaz Khan, while remembering the party stalwarts and the pioneers of the current freedom movement on their anniversaries namely; Shaheed-e-Kashmir Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Shaheed-e-Hikmat Dr. Abdul Ahad Gooru, Shaheed-e-Insaf Jalil Ahmad Andrabi Advocate, Shaheed-e-Sadaqat Syed Shabir Ahmad Siddiqui, Commander Basharat Raza and the martyrs of Hazratbal termed the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir as national asset and the shining crown. He expressed his resolve to continue the struggle for independence of the state of Jammu Kashmir until it is achieved.

According to the statement issued from the party’s Central Information Office, Raja Haq Nawaz Khan paid great tributes to the martyrs and said that Ashfaq Majeed Wani Shaheed was a brave, dynamic, visionary and talented young man who led the movement while following the footsteps of Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt and late Amanullah Khan and performed his duties to the best of his abilities. riday March 30, the third day of the month of Ramadan in 1990, Ashfaq Majeed Wani achieved the great rank of martyrdom in accordance with his long-standing wish and supplication.

The intellectual face of the freedom movement, the famous and internationally renowned cardiologist and social activist Shaheed-e-Hikmat Dr. Abdul Ahad Gooru, in a well hatched Indian conspiracy, fell to the bullets of black sheeps on April 1, 1993 in Srinagar. Following the footsteps of Shaheed Dr. Gooru, the famous human rights activist Advocate Jalil Ahmed Andrabi was also arrested on March 8, 1996 by Indian military officer Major Avtar Singh. He was extra judicially killed in custody and later on 27 March his body was found in the river Jhelum in Srinagar, he added. Shaheed Jalil Andrabi highlighted human rights violations perpetuated by Indian forces in Jammu Kashmir at local and international fora’s, the statement read.

India brutally martyred the two legends for raising their voices against human rights abuses in Jammu Kashm
ir but the fact of the matter is that she could not stop their thoughts and ideology from reaching to the new heights. Raja Haq Nawaz Khan described the role played by martyr Dr. Gooru and martyr Andrabi in the freedom movement as exemplary and unforgettable.

Shaheed-e-Sadaqat Syed Shabbir Ahmad Siddiqui, a prominent Islamic scholar of the State and a fiery speaker of his time, fell victim to Indian forces’ bullets and mortar shells during the siege of Hazratbal Shrine on 30 March 1996. The Liberation Front office located near the Shrine was demolished in which about two dozen members of the party including Shabbir Siddiqui were martyred. A few days before this siege, on March 25, some important members of the Liberation Front, including Commander Basharat Raza, were also martyred on the spot.

According to the statement, while paying homage to the martyrs, Raja Haq Nawaz Khan instructed the party officials in and outside the State to organize prayer meetings on March 30, on the occasion of the martyrs’ anni
versary, in the blessed month of Ramadan. In these ceremonies, the senior party leaders while highlighting the role played by these pioneers will discuss and expose the conspiracies being hatched against the freedom movement. Besides the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir, the prayers will also be held for the best health and release of all pro-freedom prisoners including the incarcerated party chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Acting JKLF Chairman cautioned the nation against the conspiracies being hatched from both sides of the ceasefire line against the national identity of Jammu Kashmir and the freedom movement. He expressed his resolve to continue the struggle until the goal of complete independence is achieved. He said that freedom has become the destiny of Kashmiris, which no big power in the world can stop now. Raja Haq Nawaz Khan, while condemning Indian state terrorism in Indian Occupied Jammu Kashmir said that as a result of cruelty, oppression and brutality, the fear of death has disappeared from the hearts o
f Kashmiris and that Kashmiris will keep the candle of freedom struggle alive with their steadfastness and the sacrifices needed.

Raja Haq Nawaz Khan in his statement paid rich tributes to Mirwaiz Muhammad Yousuf Shah on his death anniversary today.

Meanwhile JKLF chief spokesman paid rich tributes to former AJK President Mirwaiz Muhammad Yousuf Shah in a seminar organised by APHC on his death anniversary. On the occasion the JKLF spokesman emphasised on the formation of a National Kashmir Policy for Kashmiri leadership to follow. He said the follies and shortcomings of the policies followed until now by the leadership need to be reviewed and streamlined accordingly.

The spokesman expressed grief and sorrow over the accidental death of party’s proactive member from Lehri, Tattapani namely Majid Shah. He prayed for the magfirah of the deceased soul and for the patience of his family.
