Lahore: Students and interns of the Punjab Police Internship Program visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority for a study tour. The delegation, consisting of 180 students from different
universities, was briefed on the workings of various departments within the institution.
According to the details, the interns were informed about the operations of the Virtual
Women Police Station and the Virtual Child Safety Center. During the briefing, it was
highlighted that over 200,000 women have received help through the Virtual Women Police
Station for various cases. The delegation was also briefed on the operations and importance of
the Safe City Virtual Blood Bank. During this session, the students registered as donors to
support the initiative.
The interns were briefed on the advanced features of the 15 Emergency Helpline System
and the utilization of Artificial Intelligence. The briefing included information about the
Women's Safety App, Panic Button, and Live Chat Feature, which are designed to enhance the
safety and protection of women.
During the briefing, it was emphasized that harassment cases and other related issues are
being prioritized and handled promptly. This has led to a significant number of women benefiting
from these services, which is a positive development.
The delegation praised the Safe City's initiatives, particularly the Virtual Blood Bank, and
commended its efforts in providing a safe and supportive environment for the citizens. The
delegation also had the opportunity to experience the view of the city from Asia's largest security
wall, which they described as an excellent experience.
