Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi's Literary Committee (Shair-o-Sukhan) and Sakin-e-Shaher-e-Qa'id, collaborated for the launch of renowned poet Ahmad Adil's first poetry collection, "Aalam-e-Imkaan" at Haseena Moin Hall. The event was presided over by distinguished intellectual, poet, and writer Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, while renowned poetess Dr. Ambreen Haseeb Amber.
The event featured notable speakers, including Khalid Moin, Ahmad Adil, Nair Rubbab, and Amna Alam, who shared their thoughts. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, in his presidential address, highlighted that Ahmad Adil's poetry collection Aalam-e-Imkaan is not just a mere compilation of poems but a profound intellectual commentary on various aspects of life. His verses have the power to spark a revolutionary shift in the reader's mind. He emphasized that the slow burn, sustained over time, is far more meaningful than moments of sudden flare-ups. He further noted that if Ahmad Adil continues to safeguard this precious art of poetry, it will prove to be a significant step forward for Urdu literature. Renowned poet and literary critic Khalid Moin shared his personal experience, recounting his first encounter with Ahmad Adil in Bahrain. He expressed that even in that brief meeting, he could sense the cultural elegance and intellectual depth in Adil's poetry. Moen praised the delicate blend of refinement, culture, a esthetics, and the societal contradictions reflected in Adil's verses, which set his poetry apart from others. Nair Rubbab said that it was not just a collection of poetry, but an intellectual dialogue where Ahmad Adil converses with himself, his surroundings, and nature.
She admired the depth of emotions, delicate feelings, and a unique sensitivity in his poetry that made him a standout poet. Famous poetess Amna Alam discussed that where superficiality has overshadowed simplicity in our modern society poets like Ahmad Adil are needed to bring sincerity, truth, and depth into literature. She praised Adil's contribution to the preservation and promotion of Urdu literature, even while living in Bahrain. In his closing remarks, poet Ahmad Adil thanked the attendees for their support and said, "Life's journey is an intriguing one, both identical and unique, but each individual has their own distinctiveness. We all view the world through the colored lenses shaped by our experiences and emotions. My poetry reflects these varied possibilities of life, where happiness and sorrow, hope and despair, reality and dreams coexist."
