Islamabad: H.H. General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation were discussed. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and emphasized the importance of further strengthening military-to-military collaboration.
Earlier, the Bahraini commander also held separate meetings with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.
At Naval Headquarters, discussions focused on bilateral defence cooperation and regional security dynamics. The Bahraini commander appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s role in promoting cooperative maritime security and maintaining regional stability.
During the meeting at Air Headquarters, the Air Chief highlighted the Pakistan Air Force’s modernization initiatives, including capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenization, and advanced training reforms. Both sides also exchanged views on emerging defence technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, digital innovation, evolving air defence challenges, and integrated defence architectures.
The Commander of the Bahrain National Guard praised the professionalism and operational readiness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions toward regional peace and stability. He also expressed interest in expanding cooperation in training, emerging technologies, and capacity-building initiatives.
The visit reflects the strong and enduring defence partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain and is expected to further advance bilateral military cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.
