Islamabad: The delivery time for normal passports has been reduced from 21 days to 14 days. Important decisions were made in a meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry to facilitate citizens.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the delivery time for normal passports has been reduced to 14 days from 21 days, and a fully cashless system will be introduced in passport offices.
Interior Minister also directed that the system for issuing business passports be finalized soon. During the meeting, it was decided to further enhance the doorstep delivery system for passports. The Interior Minister assigned a 15-day deadline to implement a fully cashless system in passport offices.
Mohsin Naqvi added that ending cash payments will eliminate the agent mafia and make the process more convenient for citizens. He also instructed that work on the business passport system be accelerated. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that establishing a Passport Authority is essential to improve the passport system and enhance public service delivery.
During the briefing, it was informed that previously normal passports were delivered within 21 days, which will now be reduced to 14 days. The Federal Secretary Interior, DG Passports and Immigration, and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
