Providing home is sacred obligation: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while formally launching 'Prime Minister's Apna Ghar Scheme has distributed bank cheques among the deserving people for loans.

Under 'Prime Minister's Apna Ghar Scheme loan is being given upto one crore rupees on easy conditions. This scheme will be applicable to all the four provinces , Gilgit-Balstistan (GB) and Azad Kashmir.

The PM congratulated successful applicants for obtaining loans saying participating in 'Prime Minister's Apna Ghar Scheme' ceremony is matter of honor for me. Providing homes is a sacred obligation. We will bring too much things in the budget.

Providing home to common man is of paramount importance for any state or government, he said adding providing home to common man is priority of our government.

"ghar ho to apna , this ceremony is highly memorable in this respect, he remarked.

Under this scheme first target is loan for 50000 homes, he said. Financing amounting to Rs 321 billion has been allocated for this scheme. Our target is set for 5 lac homes in the next four years. Too much efforts have been made to make the scheme a success.

He indicated the scheme is being launched in consultation with government functionaries and private sector.

In today's ceremony loan was given to driver Ghulam Hussain for construction of home. A large number of people stand deprived of their homes. Under this scheme people will be able to construct home on 10 marla land. I myself will review the implementation of scheme once in a month.

He remarked the wheel of economy runs due to construction sector. This housing scheme will give impetus to the industries and the economy, and open the doors for prosperity.

Medals will be given to banks on August 14 which are included in scheme.

He said government is encouraging exporters. The prominent exporters were made general envoy and blue passport was given for two years.
