Dense fog envelopes cities of Punjab

LAHORE: Cities of Punjab, including Lahore remained engulfed in dense fog on night between Monday and Tuesday rendering routine life paralyzed and road and air traffic disrupted. .

Dry and cold weather is likely to remain in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan and upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The flight operation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore was also affected due to severe weather condition and several incoming flights were diverted to other airports while outgoing flights were either delayed or cancelled.

The thick fog has badly affected the flow of road traffic in several cities. According to a Motorway spokesperson, the Motorway M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, Lahore-Multan Motorway M3 from Faizpur to Rajana, Motorway M4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakim and Motorway M11 from Lahore to Sialkot have been closed for all kind of traffic.
The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.

Drivers should use Grand Trunk (GT) Road for travelling besides driving slowly keeping the fog lights switched on..
