Hafiz Naeem strongly condemns Quetta blast, contacts Achakzai & Mengal

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly condemned the suicide attack at the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) rally in Quetta, expressing grief over the loss of innocent lives.

In phone calls with Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai and BNP-M chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman conveyed condolences, prayed for the victims, and inquired about the leaders' well-being. He thanked God that both leaders remained safe in the deadly incident, which claimed at least 15 lives and injured around 40 others at Quetta's Shahwani Stadium on Tuesday evening. Police have termed the explosion a suicide attack.

The JI chief prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and called the bombing an act of sheer terrorism. He stressed that ensuring peace and protecting citizens is the foremost responsibility of the government - a responsibility in which it appeared to have failed.

The JI Emir also voiced deep concern over the resurgence of terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including recent incidents in Bannu. He emphasized that issues across Balochistan and other parts of the country must be resolved through dialogue.
