Lahore: The Lahore Declaration at the end of the International Roundtable Conference titled: 'Quest For A Just Global Order' organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan held at a local hotel in Lahore has been issued. The Lahore Declaration Kashmir and Palestine conflicts need to be resolved for the sake of international peace and security. The roundtable conference chaired by Emir JI Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman was attended by observers from over 40 countries. The Lahore Declaration recognises that the prevailing international order shaped by colonial legacies and reinforced by post-World War II power structures has failed to deliver justice, equality, or sustainable peace. Global institutions continue to reflect historic power asymmetries, enabling selective application of international law, widening economic disparities, exploitation of natural resources, and a deepening moral, social, and ecological imbalance.Humanity now stands at a civilisational turning point requiring a moral and structural reorientat ion of global governance.Islam offers a vision for humanity's salvation irrespective of race, language, or color. It is a comprehensive system built on justice, compassion, equality, and responsibility. The conference resolves that:Palestine is an occupied land, and they have the right to resist under United Nations Chartered. The Kashmir issue has the sanctity of the international law under 16 substantive United Nations Security Council resolutions which gives them the right to decide their future under the supervision of the United Nations. The right of self determination that was given to Palestinians and Kashmiris more than seven decades ago remains unimplemented and the denial of this right has brought both the Middle East and the region of South Asia to the brink of potential nuclear catastrophe. Both conflicts need to be resolved for the sake of international peace and security. The OIC must intervene in the ongoing tragic situation in Sudan which has crossed death and destruction of more t han 150,000 innocent lives and explore earlier just and peaceful resolution of the conflict that preserve the institutions of the state and respect the sovereignty of the Sudanese people. The Declaration calls for a global order founded on Justice ('adl), shared human dignity, moral accountability, and peaceful coexistence. It envisions a community of nations bound not by domination or material competition but by ethical responsibility, compassion, and a universal commitment to equity, sustainability, and human solidarity.Five Pillars of Reform:Restructuring International Institutions: Democratising the UN and financial institutions, abolishing the veto, and ensuring equitable representation.Sovereignty Over Natural Resources: Affirming national rights to resource control, fair trade, and sustainable management.Equitable Transfer of Resources and Technology: Instituting global redistribution through debt relief, technology transfer, and fair financing.Ending Dependence and Neo-Imperialism: Regu lating multinational corporations, fostering regional self-reliance, and strengthening indigenous capacities.Moral and Spiritual Foundations: Embedding ethical governance, accountability, interfaith cooperation, and spiritual renewal into global systems.Way Forward:A permanent Secretariat will be established at the Jamaat-e-Islami Headquarters in Lahore, Pakistan to coordinate global outreach and follow-up actions. The initiative will develop into an annual or bi-annual forum, with Malaysia proposed as the next host country. The Declaration calls on all nations to recommit to shared moral values, reform global institutions, and work collectively toward a just and humane global system.Practical Action plan with timelines will be shared with all stakeholders soon.
