Ishaq Dar’s appointment as Deputy PM is against the constitution, Shehbaz Sharif committed unconstitutional act: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE: Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch while terming Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar's appointment as Deputy Prime Minister against the Constitution, has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has committed Unconstitutional act. While talking to delegation of Islamic Lawyers Movement Punjab, Liaqat Baloch said that articles of Constitution including 90, 91 and 92 are very clear in this regard according to which appointment of prime minister, federal ministers and ministers of state is there but there is no mention of vice prime minister or acting prime minister. He said that appointment of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto and Pervaiz Elahi in the past was against the Constitution. He said putting aside Constitution for political needs and to overcome party inner differences is political, democratic and constitutional crime. In the past, he said that Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal was also offered the position of vice prime minister but it turned down this offer. Liaqat Baloch said that Ishaq Dar i s a competent politician but Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) itself made him 12th player. He said that abiding by Constitution is must for all for stability of politics, democracy and Constitutional system. He said playing with the Constitution as per needs is just like making mockery with the country and the nation. Liaqat Baloch said that independence of courts and their decisions without accepting pressure from any side could guarantee public basic rights. He said big reforms are must for independence of judiciary. He said that purchase of wheat from farmers is responsibility of federal and provincial governments. He said the government left the farmers stranded with the arrival of crop of wheat. He said the government should buy wheat crop from the farmers at its own rate. He said the government is crushing the justified demands of farmers by using the power and arresting the farmers' leaders which is condemnable act. Liaqat Baloch further said that wheat purchase crisis proved that the government s are incapable and proving their performances just on social media. He said the social media is source of social contacts but politics, government and state could not be run by social media but it needed solid measures and effective strategy.
