Islamabad: President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman announced that following the ceasefire in Gaza, Alkhidmat Foundation has launched a 'Rebuild Gaza' campaign worth Rs 15 billion to help restore the lives of 2.3 million Palestinians. So far Alkhidmat Foundation has provided relief goods worth Rs. 8.1 billion to its Palestinian brothers and sisters, he said.
Under the Rebuild Gaza initiative, Alkhidmat Foundation is working on establishing field hospitals near the Gaza border, sponsoring orphaned children, clean water projects, building schools and shelters, arranging medical treatment in Pakistan for injured Palestinians, and offering higher education scholarships for Palestinian students.
In Islamabad, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan hosted a dinner in honor of the Speaker of the Palestinian National Council and Palestinian students studying in Pakistan on Alkhidmat scholarships. The event was attended by President Alkhidmat Foundation Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Vice Presidents Muhammad Abdush Shakoor, Air Marshal (Retd) Arshad Malik, Air Marshal (Retd) Farooq Habib, Director of Alkhidmat Palestine Education Scholarship Dr. Saad Zafar, Altaf Sher, Colonel (Retd) Saifur Rehman, and other members of the Alkhidmat team.
They warmly welcomed the distinguished state guest, Speaker of the Palestinian National Council Rawhi Fattouh, along with Palestinian students and other honored guests. The ceremony was also attended by ambassadors from Palestine, Syria, and other countries, as well as political figures, senior bureaucrats, journalists, and prominent personalities from various fields.
Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, in his address, praised Alkhidmat's services for the Palestinian people - especially its relief efforts in Gaza and support in enabling Palestinian youth to complete their education. He expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman briefed participants about the Foundation's services in Gaza over the past two years and its future 'Rebuild Gaza' projects. In his speech, he said that Alkhidmat is currently hosting more than 400 Palestinian students in Pakistan, and expressed gratitude to them for accepting the hospitality of the people of Pakistan through Alkhidmat. He added that plans have been finalized to bring an additional 600 Palestinian students to Pakistan for scholarships and academic opportunities, and practical work has already begun on this initiative.
The Palestinian students also expressed their joy and gratitude at the event, thanking Alkhidmat Foundation for its warm hospitality in Pakistan.
