RAWALPINDI: Additional District and Sessions judge Rawalpindi Hakam Khan Bakhar has once again adjourned the hearing of the petition seeking registration of case against former commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali Chatha till April 25.The lawyers of the respondents will give arguments on next hearing.Raja Haseeb Sultan and Farzana Mumtaz advocate appeared on behalf of commissioner in the court.The court while expressing reservation on the power of attorney directed sample of signatures of Liaqat Chatha be obtained so that it could be verified that Liaqat Ali Chatha has signed the power of attorney. Because there is contradiction in the reports filed by police with reference to compliance of summons. Ambiguity lies there.The petitioners requested the court to summon Liaqat Chatha in person because he not only kept on enjoying status of commissioner but also he was monitoring the recent general election. As our application is directly against the commissioner.The petitioner was of the view our reservati ons are there on the power of attorney filed by the commissioner. However court itself should decide.The court however adjourned the hearing till April 25 for verification of signatures of the commissionerIt is pertinent to mention here that Arsalan Ahmad and Zaib Fayyaz advocate had filed petition in the court under section A-22 and B-22 for registration of case against former commissioner.
