Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while removing the stay order regarding implementation of the death sentence awarded to former Navy officers through a general court martial decree in dockyard attack case has wrapped up the petition filed by former 5 Naval officer for provision of documents to them.These former NAVAL officers were sentenced to death through a general court martial decree.The court said this is incident of terrorism. This should not be made the issue of right of access to the documents.The petition filed by former NAVY officers Arsalan Nazir Satti, Muhammad Hammad, Muhammad Tahir Rashid, Hammad Ahmad and Irfan Ullah was wrapped up on Monday.Justice Babar Sattar of IHC announced the decision of disposing of the petition after the statement from the lawyers of the petitioners.Col (Retd) Inam ul Rahim advocate told the court as per court's orders access to inquiry report and decision was given in the presence of state counsel. Inquiry report and judgment were shown and th eir notes have been made.NAVY authorities had refused to provide copy of report of board of inquiry terming it issue of national security.The court said upon it this is case of terrorism. This should not be made issue of right to information.Later the court announced the decision and ended the stay order in regard to implementation of death sentence awarded to former NAVY officers through general court martial.
