Ishaq Dar commends efforts of all relevant stakeholders for ensuring the steady and reliable availability of fuel across the country

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a high-level meeting to review the country's petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) stock position.The Petroleum Ministry briefed the committee on the prevailing supply situation, confirming that, after factoring in incoming shipments, sufficient stock levels are available to ensure uninterrupted availability of POL products throughout Pakistan until the third week of June 2026.The Committee was further informed that the supply situation is being continuously monitored on a daily basis through the National Coordination and Management Committee (NCMC) to ensure effective oversight and proactive supply chain management.Ishaq Dar commended the efforts of all relevant stakeholders for ensuring the steady and reliable availability of fuel across the country, particularly amid prevailing global and domestic challenges.The meeting was attended by Ministers for Petroleum, IT and Telecommunication, Minister of State for Finan ce, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Petroleum, Secretary Interior, representatives of OGRA, and senior government officials from relevant ministries and departments.Meanwhile Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a meeting of the Committee on Security Assessment of Oil Refineries and Oil Shortage Facilities.The Committee reviewed the security arrangements of refineries and other oil storage facilities across the country. The Coordinator, National Coordination and Management Committee (NCMC), apprised the Committee that necessary measures are being taken in consultation and coordination with all concerned stakeholders, including refineries and oil marketing companies, to ensure the security of these strategic facilities. He also informed that the cost of these additional security measures will be borne by the Oil Marketing Companies.Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the current security arrangements. He also reiterated the government's commitment to safeguarding critical energy infrastructure to ensure uninterrupt ed national fuel supply throughout the country.The meeting was attended by the Minister for IT, Minister of State for Finance, Federal Secretaries of Petroleum and Interior, and senior federal and provincial government officials.
