Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh has announced province-wide protests from Karachi to Kashmore on Friday, May 23, against the rising lawlessness and bandit rule in the region. The party has appealed to the public for active participation and has decided to intensify its struggle against water theft and corporate farming. While addressing a meeting of district heads from lower Sindh, Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Ameer Kashif Saeed Sheikh said that the Pakistan Peoples Party, which has been in power for the past seventeen consecutive years, has failed to establish peace across Sindh. He stated that the entire province is engulfed in lawlessness, with areas such as Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad facing the worst conditions. The collusion between influential feudal lords, bandits, and corrupt elements within the police has turned kidnapping for ransom into a profitable business. He further added that from water theft and illegal occupation of lands and resources to outright bandit rule, the province is sur rounded by mafias on all sides. This breakdown in law and order is causing irreparable damage to education, business, the economy, and cultural life. Many individuals remain in the captivity of bandits, and the Hindu minority community is particularly targeted, forcing thousands of Hindu families to abandon their homes and businesses and migrate.Kashif Saeed Sheikh emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami has previously held All Parties Conferences and sit-ins to address this grave issue. Despite repeated public protests and appeals to the authorities, no meaningful action has been taken, which reflects extreme apathy on the part of the government.Instead of restoring peace, the government is filing terrorism charges against peaceful protestors-a disgraceful act and a sign of authoritarianism. The provincial Ameer urged the public to participate actively in the Friday protests to demonstrate awareness and unity. The meeting included district leaders from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Nawabshah divisions of Lower Si ndh. Discussions covered performance reports and various public, organizational, and outreach matters. Also present at the meeting were Provincial Vice Ameer Muhammad Afzal, Provincial Secretary Muhammad Yousuf, and Vice Secretaries Nawab Mujahid Baloch, Altaf Ahmed Mallah, Sohail Shariq and Zahid Hussain Rajpar.
