There should be laws for protecting school children against teasing, harassment, trolling: LHC

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has remarked there should be laws for protecting school children against harassment and trolling. The petition against harassing and social media trolling of school children came up for hearing before LHC Monday. The petitioner took the plea that 50 percent students are facing cyber harassment or trolling in Pakistan. Providing clean and neat educational environment to children is responsibility of the institutions. The physical and mental health of the children is being adversely affected due to making their cyber videos. It was requested in the petition orders be issued for stopping harassment , teasing and trolling the children. Barrister Ahmad Pansota counsel for the petitioner Saiba Farooq gave arguments. The court constituted committee under secretary special education. Justice Jawad Hassan summoned recommendations from committee. The court remarked will government not want that our children are saved from suicides. There should be laws for saving children from trolling. Secretary special education said the laws are already in place. Teasing can be included therein. Justice Jawad Hassan adjourned the hearing of the case for 10 days.
