Toshakhana case against chairman PTI: Court declares the case maintainable

ISLAMABAD: District and Sessions Court Islamabad has declared Toshakhana case maintainable besides summoning the witnesses on July 12.

Sessions judge remarked the court is showing exemplary leniency for you in this case .

The Toshakhana case against PTI chairman came up for hearing before District Sessions Court Islamabad Saturday.

Khawaja Haris, counsel for Imran Khan did not appear in the court Saturday like previous two days. The court had summoned him for arguments.

Two petitions were filed by Imran Khan in the court Saturday. In one petition request was made for exemption from attendance making security concerns a base.

In the second petition, Gauhar Ali Khan counsel for Imran Khan has prayed the court to adjourn the hearing of the case till July 10.

Saad Hassan counsel for Election Commission (EC) raised the objection over exemption plea.

Sessions Judge Hummayun Dilawar while expressing resentment remarked counsel Khawaja Haris has not appeared even for one time during the last three days. You have given undertaking counsel Khawaja Haris will appear.

Court is showing exemplary leniency to you in Toshakhana case . Undue benefit has been taken of this leniency.

The judge remarked give arguments at 11.30 otherwise I will give decision after hearing EC counsel.

The court later declared the Toshakhana case maintainable and summoned the witnesses on July 12.
